Mammoth Enterprises has two great products to make your timber harvesting safe, efficient, and enjoyable
– the Skid Blade and the Firewood Processor.
Skid Blade
The Skid Blade is designed for Cat 1 - 3 pt. hitch tractors. It makes timber harvesting safer and easier.
The Skid Blade is capable of single and multi-log extraction. And the Skid Blade is capable of stacking logs -
which really helps when a front loader is not available.
This unit has a standard 2" receiver welded in the main frame. A heavy-duty ball mount is included with
every Skid Blade. The ball mount is easily moved into use with only 1 pin (front to back; back to front).
This provides a solid mount to tow equipment.
The Skid Blade allows movement of the log; and in the high carry position, reduces damage to the woodlot
while keeping the log cleaner. The hitch is very solid, weighing in at 140 lbs. It was designed to withstand
the harsh environment found in the logging industry.
Note: We highly recommend the use of quality log tongs. Buying cheap, low-quality tongs virtually
guarantees they will end up becoming a conversation piece hanging from your shop wall.
This unit uses a two-man operation technique, eliminating costly hydraulics. Using the 16
GPM pump, one cord of wood can be cut and split in four ways in one hour. Using a 22 GPM pump
enables you to process one and a half cords per hour.
One of the features not found on other processors is the ability to process tree-length logs up to
eighteen inches in diameter. Using a base of several crib logs with the remainder stacked on top
helps keep the logs dry and clean and ready to line up for processing.
Using your own chain saw for wood processing makes sense – it eliminates the need to build a complex
hydraulic unit. This unit's convenient four-way boxed wedge splitter is strong and can be used while processing
to re-split a particularly large piece. Careful placement of a truck or wagon eliminates the need for an
elevator (as is the case with any processor, however, an elevator would be needed in order to fill a large
dump truck for production purposes).
When handling a log heavy enough to crush you, safety is of the utmost importance. With the Mammoth
processor, there's no need to lift logs hydraulically into the air for processing. It eliminates
one of the dangers associated with most processors.

This processor is modular. Everything is made to be bolted down to a sixteen-foot tandem axle
trailer which has brakes on both axles. This allows an owner to actually remove the components and
have the use of the trailer. If you already have a trailer or generator or hydraulic power pack, we
can quote you prices for individual components.
The generator on the unit can power a light standard, making it possible to cut after the sun goes
down (days seem to be shorter when we get around to cutting firewood!).
The beauty of this processor is its simple construction. If any repair is ever needed the downtime
will be minimal because many components are available locally.
